Witt’s Custom Framing of Elkader,
Iowa, has a long and proud tradition. Beginning in 1895 with William
E. Witt, a well known cabinet maker in the area, the picture frame
business is now in the hands of the 4th generation of Witt’s. Not
only are we equipped with state of the art equipment but a 100 year
old framing hammer is still used to construct the highest quality
frame. Composition wood is illegal in our gallery as only the finest
woods are used to create that special frame for our customers.
We continue to be an authorized dealer for many major print
companies in the United States. Our gallery is stocked from poster
art to limited editions to original art. We’re very pleased to carry
original art created by Mario Fernandez. His eagle sculptures are
exquisite. Our gallery is also stocked with many of our own local
Iowan artists. If you’re looking for an intriguing piece of art you
might just find it in our gallery.
As you browse our website a page has been created to display
hand-crafted furniture and numerous wood
projects created by M.L. Witt. As continuing with the Witt cabinet
making, M.L. Witt has 16 grandfather clocks to her credit. In the
Witt home the first grandfather clock that W.E. Witt made in the
early 1900s
stands stately as the clock continues to tick into the future.
Our goal is to create a project for our
valued customers with only the highest quality work possible. We
welcome any questions or comments and we thank you for giving us the
opportunity to serve you.
